Experience in equine reproduction

Dr. Michael W. Conaway, chief veterinarian and owner of Reata Equine Veterinary Group, has extensive experience in equine reproduction. He has had a special interest in breeding management strategies for more than 30 years, helping owners produce generations of healthy horses throughout Southern Arizona.

We have a breeding station on the far East side of Tucson for mares and stallions that require intensive management. With the advent of shipped semen, many mares can be successfully bred to stallions regardless of the distance between the two. Complete mare reproduction packages use either cooled or frozen semen for artificial insemination, depending on the situation and the preference of the owner.

Stallion and mare infertility treatments that fit your needs

If your horses are experiencing reproductive problems, we also offer stallion and mare infertility treatments that are tailored to fit your needs. Our veterinarians can perform management of embryonic twinning, CTUP measurements to manage placentitis, and surgery of the reproductive tract of both mares and stallions.

Once we’ve achieved successful insemination, we can provide careful management of high risk pregnancies and neonatal services upon birth. We would be happy to help you with your equine reproduction needs.
